issues like number one, what is an impeachable offense and number two what is the president defends here and another hearing will give adam schiff and the intelligence committee a chance to present their case to the judiciary committee and finally the committee will end up writing articles of impeachment that will then go to the house floor for consideration in house democrats tell me they expect to wrap up the process by christmas. arthel: meanwhile, lawmakers are at home for things giving and no doubt they will get feedback. how wide-ranging might the cornucopia of complaints be back how much will party, andrew, determine voters appetite for impeachment? all along party has determined voters appetite for impeachment. most of the people who tuned in to the hearing this week probably had already come in with their minds made up. it was probably difficult to sway people in the middle and that is the nature of how the process has played out. look, before we got into the pub gary s demo
been very gracious to every witness and asked almost every witness, do you have direct evidence of quid pro quo. do you have evidence of bribery, do you have direct evidence of treason. each and every witness says no. i think those facts are very important for the american people and that s why i think you see a shift as independent support for impeachment continues to fall because they see the truth for the first time. maria: where is this going now, were expecting writing articles of impeachment to get to the judiciary committee and from the judiciary committee to the senate but does the judiciary committee also do hearings and bring witnesses down? they are writing the rules as they go, adam schiff has made this up. as the intelligence committee over impeachment proceedings. this was unprecedented and really by adam schiff. the last public hearing that has been announced this past week we do not anticipate in public hearings the week of
hearings by the intelligence committee very, very closely, because they would be responsible for reviewing every piece of testimony, every piece of documentation, including text messages, emails and other pieces of documentation. so they can begin the critical work or we can begin the critical work of articles, writing articles of impeachment. and so i am sure chairman nadler has been meeting with his lawyers and staff members and members of the committee having those discussions. joyce vance, what did you see in the evidence established today that could add to an article of impeachment? you know, i think the articles have been pretty well defined as we headed into this week, lawrence. and what happened today was evidence that made it very clear that democrats have headed the right direction. so when dr. hill testifies that
evidence against the president is overwhelming and pretty clear and convincing. now, you are one of those people who was on both committees. what has the judiciary, the house judiciary committee been doing while the house intelligence committee has been conducting these hearings? well, i believe the judiciary committee under chairman nadler s leadership have been, of course, watching these hearings by the intelligence committee very, very closely. because they would be responsible for reviewing every piece of testimony, every piece of documentation including text messages, e-mails and other pieces of documentation so they can begin the critical work or we can begin the critical work of articles writing articles of impeachment. and so i am assured chairman nadler has been meeting with his lawyers and members of the
