David Tristram s lockdown play sees art imitating life imitating art A PLAY written by Quarry Bank playwright David Tristram has proven a case of art imitating life imitating art. David, who created the Black Country comedy character Doreen, put pen to paper to write a new play during the coronavirus lockdown.entitled Lockdown in Little Grimley . He wrote the play having had to cancel the latest Doreen tour amid the Covid-19 crisis during which time he and Doreen actress Gill Jordan launched an online School of Comedy to pass on a few tips to aspiring comic actors, writers and directors.
