TWO HARBORS, Minn.– After 70 mile per hour winds whip through the Northland, Two Harbors spends the day cleaning up what is described as a short but destructive storm.
The town was littered with debris from last nights storm and community members shared their initial reactions to what they saw and heard, including one homeowner who experienced the brunt of the storm a little too close to home.
“We were watching those trees as they were almost falling over, and then we see a branch and a loud thud, and my wife thought it was thundering and I’m like nope, it’s a tree,” Michael Tawyea said.

MASSILLON – About a dozen curious seeds showed up on a cool Friday morning to give life to a tree in Community Park.
Representatives from the city of Massillon, FirstEnergy electric service company and Wright Tree Service assisted with a tree-planting ceremony to honor Arbor Day. This is something we do (about) every year at a different Massillon park, said Steve Pedro, director of the city s Parks and Recreation Department.
Last year s Arbor Day celebration was canceled due to the COVID-19 crisis, Pedro said.
First Energy donated a small pine tree that was planed in a northwest section of the park. Workers from Wright prepped the ground.
