On the Recommended Reads shelf at Ruabon Library this week are: Queenspotting by Hilary Kearney - the author dares readers to find the queen bee in the book, with puzzles and close up photos of the queen hidden among her subjects. For younger readers there is The Accidental Rockstar by Tom McLaughlin, an entertaining and funny story from the Accidental Series; and for historical mystery fans The Bedlam Stacks by Natasha Pulley is a fast paced, mysterious adventure story full of magic and intrigue. Read up on all things Welsh. Branch libraries open for browsing Brynteg, Chirk, Gwersyllt and Rhos libraries have now joined Wrexham Library in re-opening to browse, borrow and return books by appointment only. If you would like the opportunity to visit these libraries and choose your own books, then please call them to arrange an appointment. The Order and Collect system will continue to operate for customers who do not wish to visit the library at the moment. The safety of our staff and customers is our priority and we are following Welsh Government guidance on how to manage visits. All books returned to the library will continue to be quarantined for 72 hours. More branch libraries will re-open to browse, borrow and return over the coming weeks.

Wrexham Libraries looking to introduce appointment system in the coming weeks Libraries across the county borough are looking at introducing an appointment system for customers in the coming weeks. At the moment Wrexham’s libraries are operating on a click and collect basis. However as lockdown measures start to ease, Wrexham Council says it is looking at how the service can operate on an appointment basis to allow visitors to browse, borrow and return books. A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: “Staff will be doing their best to get the books you want to you as quickly as they can.
