Jordan David Pilbeam, 23, of West Street, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday. He admitted possession of cannabis and driving a motorcycle without a licence or insurance. The court heard from prosecutor, Ann Smout, how on August 4, at 7pm, police had stopped a motorcycle driving at speed through Wray Street in Ryde. Ms Smout said police noted a smell of cannabis, and on being arrested, Pilbeam admitted possession. She said a small quantity of cannabis had been found, and in interview, Pilbeam said he had paid a friend £10 for the drugs. Ms Smout said Pilbeam had no previous convictions, and pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.
