Australia is ready to welcome home the Commonwealth Bank Matildas once again, when they play their first home friendly of 2022 against New Zealand on Friday night.
History will be made in many ways, with the match marking the team's historic maiden international in Townsville, with the state-of-the-art QCB Stadium set to host its first-ever football match.
The Commonwealth Bank Matildas are lined up for a blockbuster two-match home series with our co-hosts for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup™ and Trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand.
The two-match series will see Australia play their first-ever game in Townsville, before finishing up in the nation's capital Canberra, love nine years after we last played the Football Ferns there.
