coming from desantis, that is really, really,. rich he accused her of pursuing lenient sentences and declining to prosecute certain charges. to santa replaced worrell with andrew bain. who is he? a federal society judge. already, with just a week on the job, bannon has stopped the offices diversity programs, the programs which were intended to provide intervention for certain nonviolent offenders. this is not the first time the desantis has yielded his executive power over local government to suspend a democratically appointed official. last year prosecutor andrew warren was suspended in a similar fashion because warren pledged not to prosecute people who were seeking abortion care this is the latest in a long list in similar actions that desantis is taking to issue more and more control over the state of florida this laundry
removed another democratic state attorney who had promised to not prosecute those who seek or perform abortions as well as those who provide gender affirming treatments. a clear challenge to desantis and laws he has backed. monique worrell joins me tonight to respond to the governor s accusations. ms. worrell, thank you so much for being with us tonight. to be clear you won 66% of the vote in 2020. so what s your reaction to all of this? yes, that s correct. i won by an overwhelming margin, and my reaction is that we are losing our democracy right by right, vote by vote. and no one is coming to save us. in his announcement yesterday, governor desantis accused you of being lax on crime and declining to prosecute certain charges. and he cited three cases, two of which involve suspects with
