Seema Bisla on Friday became the fourth Indian woman wrestler to qualify for the Tokyo Games by reaching the final of the 50kg competition even as Sumit Malik settled for a silver medal after conceding his final bout due to a knee injury at the World Olympic Qualifiers, here.
Seema booked an Olympic berth for herself after a close 2-1 win over European Championship bronze medallist Anna Lukasiak of Poland, showing tremendous defensive skills in the semifinal.

After giving away a point on passivity, Seema pulled off a quick take down in the first period for a 2-1 lead, which she kept till the end to earn the quota.

Sumit Malik became the fourth Indian men s freestyle wrestler to qualify for the Tokyo Games when he reached the 125kg final at the World Olympic Qualifiers in Sofia, Bulgaria on Thusday.
Malik joined Ravi Dahiya (57kg), Bajrang Punia (65kg) and Deepak Punia (86kg) in India s men s freestyle squad bound for the Tokyo Olympics.
This is the first time that 28-year-old Malik, who is a 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medalist, has made the cut for the Olympics.
The finalists at this competition qualify for the Tokyo Games.
Unlike his previous bouts, Malik was aggressive from the beginning in the crucial semifinal, which he won 5-0 against Venezuela s Jose Daniel Diaz Robertti.

Handed an opportunity to qualify for the Tokyo Games at the fag end of his international career, veteran wrestler Amit Dhankar would go all out when he takes the mat along with 11 other Indians at the World Olympic Qualifiers, starting on Thursday.
The 32-year-old Dhankar is a three-time Commonwealth champion but he missed the big-ticket events because he struggled to go past Yogeshwar Dutt in 66kg category for most of his career.
