কোরবানিদাতা নিজের কোরবানির পশু নিজেই জবাই করবেন, যদি তিনি ভালোভাবে জবাই করতে পারেন। কেননা, রাসুলুল্লাহ (স) নিজে জবাই করেছেন। আর পশু কোরবানি করা আল্লাহ তাআলার নৈকট্য অর্জনের একটি মাধ্যম। এই কোরবানির সময় বাঞ্ছনীয় বিষয় হচ্ছে দোয়া পড়া। পশু কোরবানির দোয়া হলো:
