SEOUL: The World Journalists Conference is becoming one of the greatest events for journalists around the world for its bringing journalists from across the world to discuss crucial issues and the future of journalism, the President of the Journalists Association of Korea (JAK) has said.
“We have invited journalists from all over the world for seven years until 2019 to the Korean Peninsula, the only divided nation on earth, to have them personally experience the reality of the divided nation and realize once again the importance of peace. Aside from that, we have discussed the future of journalism and expanded forum for mutual bonding,” Kim Dong Hoon said.

SEOUL: The Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea has stressed that the value of journalism has become much more invaluable in a new world where anyone can easily produce, distribute and consume information thanks to the development of digital technology and people’s thirst for the truth becomes more unquenchable.
“In this new world, I think the role of the media lies in the truth. I believe that when the media shed light on the world through truthful communication and balanced perspectives, its role as a mirror and window will truly shine,” Chung Sye-kyun said.
SEOUL: Asian Journalists Association members and other international journalists participating in the World Journalists Conference 2021 were on Sunday updated on the program of the annual them to open on Monday amid high expectation.
WJC2021 Moderator Jung Min-ho, the Korea Times, Digital Content Editor and head of International Relations Department, also led the last rehearsal to assess the technical readiness and ensure the success of the forum to be held online for the second consecutive year.
Time differences between participants from Far East Asia and Latin America did not dampen the enthusiastic attitudes and vivacious spirt that the participants shared as they tested their devices by introducing themselves and sharing their views and wishes for the conference.
