Much work remains to be done in the pandemic response, Malacañang declared Wednesday after the country’s cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) surged nearly 900,000.
Presidential spokesman Harry Roque highlighted the government’s efforts on testing, tracing, isolation, treatment, and vaccination but asked the public to do its part to overcome the pandemic.

“Much more can be done, thus, we call on all sectors to unite and help the government in putting an end to this dreadful pandemic,” he said in a statement Wednesday, April 14.
"Palace spokesperson Harry Roque’s statement today on the government’s pandemic response is just too detached from reality," Bayan secretary general said in a press statement. "It’s like saying our hospitals are doing fine because you went straight to the hospital room without passing through the emergency room and corridors where lines are long and patients are miserable," Reyes added.
