Jack Lenor Larsen
EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. December 22, 2020 Weaver, designer, collector, gardener, author, world traveler, entrepreneur, teacher, and cultural scholar, Jack Lenor Larsen was mentor to textile connoisseurs, designers, artisans and artists throughout his eventful and gratifying 93 years. He died peacefully on the evening of December 22, 2020, of natural causes in East Hampton, N.Y., at LongHouse Reserve, the 16-acre garden and arts center that is his legacy. Larsen’s, companion of more than 30 years, Peter Olsen, was at his side.
A memorial service will be announced in the near future.
For those who wish to honor Larsen, he would appreciate nothing more than a contribution to the Jack Lenor Larsen Endowment Fund, established to support the maintenance of and programming at his beloved LongHouse Reserve.

Every inch of it was a funeral turned to hospitality, arts and culture event. And it was not surprising. Other names of the chief mourner, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, are tourism, arts and culture. He was former Director-General of Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, NTDC, and presently National Council for Arts and Culture D-G and President, World Craft Council, African Region.
The Runsewe family has released the official funeral details for their late matriarch, Mrs. Felicia Adesola Runsewe (Nee Ademosun), who joined the saints recently at age 94. According to Otunba Segun Runsewe, Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) and President World Craft Council (WCC) Africa region, the funeral details for his late mother also known as ‘Mama Kaduna’ will kick start with a wake keep and service of songs on Thursday December 17, 2020, at the Chapel of Healing Cross, opposite LUTH, Idi Araba by 5p.m. prompt. Funeral service takes place at same venue on December 18, Friday by 10a.m. prompt while reception takes place at Eagle Club opposite Shoprite and Leisure Centre, Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Surulere, Lagos.
