Vice President Damon Sims to step down from Penn State Student Affairs

After nearly 15 years at Penn State overseeing 33 administrative units supporting students across the University, Vice President for Student Affairs Damon Sims has stepped down and will serve as a special assistant to the president until June 30. Sims will then move to the classroom as a non-tenure-line associate professor. Associate Vice President for Student Affairs Andrea Dowhower has been named interim vice president until a permanent replacement is named.

Student Governments host Night of Remembrance to honor students who have died

The annual Night of Remembrance vigil, organized by the student governments, will be held at 6 p.m. on April 28 at the Old Main steps on the University Park campus. The vigil will honor and remember students who died during the 2021-22 academic year.

UPUA Funds School Supply Packs For Underprivileged Students, Lyft Subsidies

The 15th Assembly of the University Park Undergraduate Association met virtually Wednesday night for its fourth spring semester meeting. The meeting began with a special presentation from O. Richard Bundy, Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations.  The second presentation of the evening came from Nora Van Horn and Claire Kelling from the University Park Student Fee Board. Van Horn and Kelling spoke about the possibility of implementing an environmental sustainability fee. The fee, which is only in the idea stage at the moment, is supposedly going to cover student-driven sustainability projects. The Student Fee Board will have more information on it in its own meetings.
