I was sympathetic with what president ial candidate Ronald Reagan said, but its a lot easier to say than it actually is to do. Im not of the school if we were to ramped up our effort in vietnam we would have won it. The most important thing we underestimated was presuming that communism was monolithic and that vietnam was a pep pet of the soviet union and china. Yugoslavia was a wellknown sort of renegade inside the communist party movement.
