he said he did not agree with some of the things that were said in that communique. so certainly. you know, he has smashed some of these conventions, some of these things that we ve grown accustomed to after the g7 summits and he will continue to do that. one thing we should point out in the last several minutes, the white house did release a readout of the conversation, the lunch that took place between president trump and president emmanuel macron of france. it says they did talk about the trade and tax issues that we ve been prepreviewing. so sounds like they had a pretty frank exchange about all of that and i suspect much of that will continue on into the evening as the president is hosted by emmanuel macron at this working dinner that we ll see later this evening. but no question about it, the president of the united states typically is a leader on all of these fronts at these g7s. we ve seen that in the past. republican and democrat
summit goes on. the president does have an opportunity to have a sit down with the british prime minister, the new british prime minister boris johnson and that is going to take place tomorrow morning and he has the opportunity there to be meeting with who is a bit more like minded when it comes to some of these issues on the world stage, but earlier in the day, as he was meeting with the french president emanuel macron, some of that frostiness that we heard in some of these comments going back and forth that was not on display. the two looked rather chummy as they were getting along with one another and talking to reporters. the president said everybody is getting along at the g7 and that s not necessarily the case, but ana, one thing that we should make note to our viewers this evening and you were just touching on this a few moments ago. the president is at this working dinner at the g7 summit with these other world leaders and the white house pool, the small group of reporters and
on his way over here, that is going to unsettle things. and the eu he had will of the eu donald tusk was talking about this earlier today. i suspect that they will also perhaps get into the conversation about russia and the readmitted and have it be a g8 again. but we ve seen it before. last year i was at that summit and as the president was leaving, he decided that the u.s. would not sign on to the communique that came out 6 that g7 summit and he went on to insult the canadian prime minister justin trudeatrudeau. so they are having this working dinner now. it used to be a way of saying they are having dinner and yes, they may talk about things. but they have very serious ideological and political disagreements between the countries over here in europe, gentleman can pjapan and
