I understand that the Super Bowl is today. Although it hasn’t quite been the same, it will be nice to see 25,000 folks (and 30,000 cutouts) in the stands for a sporting event that brings the nation together in a day-long party.
I saw the TIME article. As Jeff Charles mentioned this week, this is both a doozy of information and not really a surprise.
I also know that Democrats still seem to have a hyper-focus on impeaching a person that is no longer in office. I see that CNN is also particularly interested in a group of Americans whose most-prominent leaders are facing legal trouble. Stories about organic food in prison and stripped committee assignments dominate the news cycles and attention spans of networks and legislators alike.
it s in the system. if only our sagoldman sachs friends would hire us. americans would be okay if everyone is doing well. everybody beliefs thone belid happen. should people be living in squaw lower comparatively? live expectancy in this country has fallen which suggests something is wrong. i totally agree. at the same time you can look at a lot of economic indicators, look at unemployment, wages are slowly but surely moving up. you can look at workforce participation. slowly but surely moving up. there are a lot of indicaof ind that things are better for americans overall. i wonder if it s a question the rich are getting richer or the poor are getting poorer or the rich are getting richer at a
workforce participation went up. so let s talk about some of the positive things. are we going to take income inequality and at the end of this show make it go to zero? no. i don t think so. one of the reasons people voted for the president was because he said i m going to address it, attack it and solve it. do you see policies being put in place that solve it? right now it s corporate leaders who appear to be addressing it more than government leaders do. i think the policies of you know, these are all political issues and in an economic terms and i don t agree with all the politics necessarily, but in economic terms i think there are things being done. what s being done on trade in the long run is negotiation. in the long run it will lower tariffs, it will lower barriers. it s just a different way to go there versus what other administrations did. i think that all of the things that we re talking about which encourage investment and encourage employment are steps in the dir
to tick higher, that could be the sign people are feeling better about their financial situation. if we are at full employment is when we look at the portion of america that is left out of the economy and that s what we have to look at structural issues. workforce participation is something we need to focus on. for example, the huge huge portions we talk about paternity and maternity care. there s more than the 12 weeks after you have a baby. many people mostly women are not going back to work because there isn t adequate and affordable child care programs in this country. there are scores of people you know in your own community even though you might have a great job who simply say in the industry that i m in, in what my expertise is, i cannot afford to go back to work because in the united states there are not adequate programs that can care for your children so you can go to work. yeah. and the other thing is when we
