If you are in the market for a summer job, an upcoming hiring event could help you land one.
This coming Tuesday, April 27th, a walk-and-drive-thru hiring event will take place at the DECC from 1:00-4:00pm.
There, people looking for jobs can learn about opportunities available, and fill out an applications on the spot. The event kicks off Hospitality Hiring Week.
“It’s just us trying to be innovative in a difficult time and get people information about job opportunities but safely,” Elena Foshay, Director of Workforce Development for the City of Duluth said.
According to Foshay, over 30 employers will be participating, but there will also be a universal application for those who don t want to fill out more than one. Most jobs are geared towards the hospitality industry.

According to local workforce experts, several factors impeded the ability of women to stay and hold jobs. These included difficult access to childcare along with the impacts of distance learning.
