There are two callers. First speaker, please. So, again, commissioners, this pandemic, as you can see, very few people want to participate in any of these major projects. So we leave it to you, our representatives, to do Due Diligence based on third street, which is a mess, the central subway, we are waiting for the opening, the van ness bus rapid transit, the businesses that needed to be helped have gone. And we havent learned anything what happened on Market Street before. We always dont seem to learn something from the past projects and we dont seem to have a checklist. We just live it to become project managers, who are not really project managers, because they cant do a needs assessment. And then we love to have our fire chats, the Public Comment period, where we allow them a couple of minutes and you dont seem to be paying attention to us. Its going to come to bite you all in the back. Supervisor peskin next speaker, please. Thank you, caller. Your two minutes begins now. Thank y
Working from home a, but we have seen warehouse jobs surgeon. The challenges are immense and when it comes to returning to some sort of normal. Workersmon encouraged back into the office to increase credibility increase productivity. They had to send a workaround with the coronavirus. Caroline there are so many issues with the coronavirus that are confusing. The temporary issues with the virus, the mediumterm with the slowdown. The white line is the people who are on temporary layoffs. Blue line, permanent layoffs. Normally, they just move together. The number of people on temporary layoffs surged in march and april. The number of people who lost their jobs on a permanent basis, that continues to rise. We really have a case of two labor markets. Is not just one of the reasons we might have two labor markets is that the labor market is moving to something different. Our entity spending as a share of gdp, that is the highest on record. Give you aer lines better sense of what is happening
Merely dealing with partisan gridlock the dow inched up two points and the nasdaq jumped 1. 12 , this i what we have to think about. Six months ago it looked like the world was ending everyone in congress had a reason to reach a compromise both sides have an incentive to be more stubborn they get to blame each other in the runup to an election but as Speaker Pelosi told me this morning, the deal is still on the table. I took her full statement as a sign getting a deal done could be extremely difficult im saying this purely in micah pasty as your investing coach without a stimulus deal, there will be a ton of private company losers and could be a much worse place a year from now if we get a vaccine by the end of the year too many struggling Small Businesses cant wait that long. Now if you got a white collar job you can do from home you may not realize how bad it can be. The future is fine for anyone that can work from home whether we get another bailout or not. For millions of americans

A recall a building on post street he and a walked on back in guessing 2005, 2006 which presented some very similar issues. It was a tax credit building. And what happened was and this has not happened a lot but it does come up, what happens when you take an Affordable Housing model and allow for protections and plot that on a place where people either were rent controlled or thought they were rent controlled tenant and that raised issues and complications and we worked through that and did legislation and supervisor peskin made clear tenants werent losing the protections even if you overlaid Affordable Housing. Honestly, colleagues, if midtown had been build in 2014 and everyone had come in we wouldnt have that problem and thats a shift in people with rent control protection to another program. Many protections of rent control exists in the program for example eviction protections, you dont need the rent board and frankly theres more loopholes in the rent control that allow people to
