TENBURY Library is able to extend the service it offers to people in the town. Worcestershire libraries will be able to provide more face to face services to support customers in the next phase of the roadmap out of lockdown. The new guidance that allows up to 6 people to meet indoors will mean small social connecting groups such as reading groups and Knit and Natter can once again meet in library spaces. One to one sessions that provide valuable support with digital skills, employability and job seeking, and provide business advice and information will also be introduced over coming weeks.
WORCESTERSHIRE libraries have launched a new initiative to help tackle loneliness and isolation across the county. The Worcestershire libraries ‘Reading Friends’ scheme will bring people together to read, meet new friends, and have fun and is centred around three library services - The Library Service at Home, online Connect Bubbles, and One-to-One telephone calls. The Library Service at Home supports Worcestershire residents who are unable to access their local or mobile library because of age, disability, or long-term illness. A selection of books is delivered each month to the customer’s home, tailored to their reading preferences. During lockdown, library staff made ‘keep in touch calls’ to LSAH customers to ensure their wellbeing.
