Light fixtures lined Walnut Street in Worcester Tuesday morning as production crews prepped the building that once housed Commerce High School for a George Clooney-directed film.
Clooney is expected to be in Worcester next week as production on “The Tender Bar” in the city is scheduled to start Monday.
The movie takes place in Long Island but has been shooting across Massachusetts. The film depicts a young boy, who is searching for role models after his father left shortly after he was born. He develops bonds with his uncle, played by Ben Affleck, and other patrons at the bar. The drama was adapted from the 2005 memoir by Pulitzer-winning author J.R. Moehringer.

While first responders in Worcester are in their first week of being vaccinated, Dudley Police Chief Steven Wojnar and his department are preparing for their second dose.
Chief Wojnar compares it to a flu shot.
He said, Some people have had some mild symptoms back and forth. But for the most part, everyone has come through OK.
The town worked with Harrington Hospital and Wojnar received his first shot just before Christmas. And while some in the department have their doubts, he says the overall response has been positive. We ve had some close calls with exposures, we ve had some people who have tested positive, we ve had a lot of the things most people have had. So anything you can do to help prevent it is important, Wojnar said.
