Maisie Gibson, eight, was picked by a panel that included the Worcester News editor Michael Purton. The youngster caught the eye of the judges after they heard her amazing story. The kind hearted girl was seven at the time when she began making ribbons celebrating the NHS, quickly smashing her original target. Inspired by the story of Colonel Tom Moore, Maisie decided to make the ribbons to show her support with the help of her mum Charlotte and sisters Heidi and Felicity. She was also inspired by her grandmother Heather, who works as a nurse at Malvern Community Hospital and has beaten coronavirus.
