“Mr. Gall recognized an individual that had overdosed in the washroom and was unconscious so he alerted the staff to call 911,” said Chief Blunden. “As a result members attended and were able to administer aid, otherwise it may have been longer responding and the male victim may not have been so lucky.” He added that Weyburn is proud to have community members like Gall who exemplify genuine concern and take impressive and safe action during emergency situations.

“We have enjoyed much success since moving our auction online. It allows us to realize better value for your generous donations,” said fundraising chair Chad Ror, noting that members are seeking donations from Weyburn and area businesses for the auction. In their letter to businesses, Ror said, “We greatly appreciate your consideration in donating to our auction. Every donation that we receive whether it’s an item, gift certificate, cash donation, large or small helps us achieve our goal to make Weyburn and area a better place to live.” He added that “economic times have changed, but our community has helped us with great success over the years knowing that we follow our Motto of ‘We Serve’, and with that our supporters know we are giving our monies directly back to the community.”
