COOK S CORNER: Betsy Anderson known for her gingerbreads
And her secret is butter in the mix

Folks who have attended Wooster downtown’s Winter Wonderland event are well acquainted with Betsy Anderson’s gingerbread people. For several years now, Anderson has baked hundreds of these tasty cookies to share as Wonderland refreshments.
Traditionally spiced with ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, her gingerbreads disappeared in short order. “We always ran out and I always took a mound of dough,” she said.
What Anderson likes about this particular recipe is the butter in the mix, versus shortening or oleo in others. And not just any butter.
