WOONSOCKET – A New Hampshire-based developer is moving forward with his plans to turn the former Woonsocket Armory into an arts center, though city officials are split on how many incentives to offer the project.
Brian Thibeault, who also owns the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center and The Times building in Pawtucket, told The Breeze he has closed on the purchase of the South Main Street property from Saint James Baptist Church. WOONSOCKET – A pair of developers who’ve already taken on two projects in the Main Street area have purchased the former Father Marot CYO Center on Federal Street and have plans to turn it into apartments.
John Messier and Leszek “Les” Przybylko have purchased the property for $350,000, according to CYO Center Director Leo Fontaine. The sale includes two adjacent buildings at 77 Federal St. and 122 Clinton St. and the parking lot next door.
Messier confirmed the sale to The Valley Breeze on Monday and said the two partners plan to develop the buildings into apartments.
