“I work for IHSS (In-Home Support Services); I work for my mom,” the 46-year-old Fairfield resident said. “And because my mom got one, I needed to get one, too.”
Sustal received her vaccination as part of a Public Health clinic Tuesday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield. Jose Caballero, a senior health education specialist for the county, said 1,500 residents would get their shots.

LNU Fire zone residents face evacuation as winter storm approaches
The cause: Heavy rains that could cause mudslides in the burn zone stripped of its vegetation.
The Solano County Office of Emergency Services issued an evacuation warning shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday for all residents in the Hennessey Fire burn area.
Fairfield extends advanced life support services with Medic Ambulance
FAIRFIELD The City Council on Tuesday adopted a resolution that amends the Public-Private Partnership Agreement with Medic Ambulance Services for delivering advanced life support services.
Fire Chief Anthony Velasquez said finalizing the agreement was one of the department’s top accomplishments of the current fiscal year.

“We’ve been working on this for a couple of years,” Velasquez said in a phone interview.
Benicia, Dixon, Vallejo and now Suisun City are also part of the agreement.
Medic Ambulance has been an authorized provider of advanced life support services within Solano County since 2000.
Fairfield council’s first meeting in new year a virtual one
FAIRFIELD The City Council on Tuesday will consider annexing 2.1 acres on Sunset Avenue, 1.23 acres of which is the site of a proposed 10,342-square-foot church and other improvements.
The meeting is the first in 2021 and will be held virtually, starting at 6 p.m. The public session follows a 5 p.m. closed session during which the council will be updated on property negotiations related to land at 640 Broadway St., and potential litigation by an employee, Corina Rangel, council agendas state.
