Winds and Percussion at Southeast Final Concert to Feature
A Saxophone Tribute to Rudy Wiedoeft
At 7:30 pm on May 3 and 4, music students at Southeast will present their second and final concert series of the year. Featured will be the Southeast Concert Band, Brass Choir, Woodwind Choir, Percussion Ensemble, and a variety of smaller ensembles.
The highlight of the two concerts will be performances by Dr. Zach Stern, who is a Part-Time Faculty member at Southeast and a member of the internationally acclaimed Sinta Quartet. On the May 4th concert, Dr. Stern will be featured in A Tribute to Rudy Wiedoeft, which was originally arranged by Gunther Schuller and has been adapted for Woodwind Choir, percussion, and saxophone soloist by Dr. Stern. On the May 3rd concert, he will also perform Air Nostalgique for solo saxophone and concert band by Dutch composer Ted Huggens.
