Anglers Of All Skill Levels Can Find A Bite At The Walleye Capital of the World
May 5, 2021
Lake of the Woods features world-class fishing along Minnesota’s northern shores.
The lake has more than 65,000 miles of coast line and more than 14,000 islands.
There are an estimated 10 million walleye in the lake. But you can fish a wide variety of species.
The lake is well-known among anglers, but you don’t need any experience to reel in your share.
Joe Henry with Lake of the Woods Tourism says, “You know, for people that don’t even fish, you can go there and stay at one of our resorts, step aboard a charter boat where everything’s included, the rods, reel, tackle, bait. A licensed charter boat will put you on the fish. You have an enjoyable day of fishing. You’re gonna be very successful typically. And then when you come back to the dock around 5 o’clock the guides will clean the fish for you, and if you want, the resorts will even cook them up.”
