The Lake of the Woods Soccer Association is seeking some money from the city to help it through shutdowns caused by COVID-19.
Wes Manulak from the board of directors made the appeal to the city council this week and says the virus has hit them hard.
“Facility rental income for us was down 90 per cent in 2020 and is expected to be similar in 2021,” explains Manulak
He says their annual tax bill from the city is $7,000 while they use, on average $5,000 a year to water the grass at the Tom Nabb Soccer Complex, but it can be as high as $8.000 in a dry year.
