Accidents Happen
Motor vehicle collisions can happen to anyone. The unexpected circumstances can leave you feeling overwhelmed and uncertain of the next step. Knowing what to do after a collision is important and can take away some of the stress you will feel at an accident scene.

First and most importantly, stop. Remain at the scene of an accident. It is the law, and not doing so could result in criminal charges and demerit points.
If anyone is seriously injured, call 9-1-1. They will dispatch an ambulance and the police. You should also call the police if a vehicle is not driveable, if any driver does not have a driver’s licence or proof of insurance, or if you suspect someone is impaired. Remember, both alcohol and drugs can cause impairment.
