Getting enough COVID-19 vaccine allocation to Houstonians has been a daunting challenge for Harris County health officials.
Now, Texas will finally get a larger distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, increasing the weekly amount up 385,000 doses starting next week, according to the Texas Department of Health Services. That s 50,000 more doses than last week.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services Imelda Garcia, more than 2 million doses of vaccine have already been administered, with nearly 1.7 million receiving their first dose. Only 307,000 Texans have currently received both doses.
