PARKERSBURG This week’s drug bust resulting in the arrest of seven people from Parkersburg stemmed from an investigation beginning in November.
The Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force began a drug trafficking investigation and this month, the task force intercepted a conversation from a cell phone belonging to Mary Elizabeth Curran, 35, 1314 Spring St., Parkersburg, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court.
“During the course of this investigation, agents were able to intercept copious amounts of communications to and from individuals detailing suspected sales or purchases of controlled substances,” the complaint said.
Last week, Curran asked a known supplier of controlled substances in Columbus if he could bring her clothes, the complaint said. Clothing, or more specifically “shirts,” are common slang terms used for drugs, according to the complaint.
