Wood County Fire Marshal’s Office, along with Mill Creek Farm, will be conducting a controlled burn in the Holly Lake Ranch area through Monday, Feb. 26. Fire agencies from all over Texas will be training over incident management and wildland firefighting during the burn.

PARKERSBURG A potential water tower may be planned in south Parkersburg near Parkersburg South High School as there have been talks between the City of Parkersburg and Wood County Schools.
Mentioned as part of the facility update during the Wood County Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, Assistant Superintendent of Support Services Michael Fling said he has been in talks with city officials as a new water tower will help increase water pressure in south Parkersburg.
The proposed water tower will be placed behind South’s 400 Building on the hill near the high school and the road to the tower will be on the hill as well, on the 3.25 acres of land given to the city from the district.
