finally did that as opposed to having this democratic thing that looks like nancy pelosi as speaker and president obama at the white house and the other leaders were hurting cats, meaning the democrats. was the president able to have those accomplished in the lame duck session despite what bob s describing there? it s funny, i have a book called hurting donkeys i thought a little bit about this. nancy pelosi was an incredible leader for the democrats and president obama handed her the entire agenda and she passed not some of it, but all of it through the house. republicans ran against her in 2006 and 2008. it didn t work. it only worked in 2010 because of the economy. democrats ran against john boehner in 2010, it didn t work because people don t care who the speaker of the house is. they care about the broader party in power and what s going on at the time. they didn t like how the bush administration was running the
berman, amy holmes and bob franken. we all love a good headline. we couldn t resist this. ari, when you take a look at what we re reading through this political article, does nancy pelosi need to make over, not in clothes but in terms of image, let s say. i think this story is much to do about nothing. it was a throw away line in the washington post but it s steven spielberg and all the media jumped on it. pelosi is in the media and it s funny, you know, democrats brand and message was fine in 2006 and 20 2008. they have an economic problem, not a branding problem meaning it is not easy to win elections and the unemploit rate at 9% or 10%. i don t think even steven spielberg can fix that problem for them right now unless they can get the unemployment rate down below 8%. what might be the rebranding strategy here?
