the state. how enthusiastic are the voters there as we head into the final stretch? reporter: certainly at a record-breaking pace. those are record-breaking numbers here in the state of georgia, and this is a state where the elections have been watched closely and voting have been watched closely, so when we see this pace of record-breaking turnout every single day since early voting has begun, it s something significant and something the candidates want to continue. we are seeing the duelling bus tours taking place among the governor s race, and stacy abrams is trying to hit all 159 counties before election day, and so is brian kemp. this is a reliably red area, and this is where we are going to see the governor having a bus stop tour with mike pence later today at the shop behind me. this is the second time the two appeared together this year.
he s campaigning for democrats in michigan and wisconsin this weekend. and nevada on tuesday, trying to preserve razor thin margins in congress. the man who followed him into the oval office, former president trump, set to stump for gop candidates in iowa, pennsylvania, florida, and ohio. in the final stretch towards election day. plans are still coming together, alex, for president biden to campaign with former president obama. that too likely will rally in pennsylvania next weekend, when former president trump is also going to be in the state at the same time. alex? okay monika, thank you so much from the white house. more, now, on georgia, where democrats are focusing on critical races there in these final days. nbc s alison barber is in atlanta for us. alison, welcome. do you gauge the reaction to former president obama and will this give these candidates the boost they need? i mean, that is the big question. we probably will have to wait until the polls close to know the ans
yesterday that shows the enthusiasm really high on both republicans and democrats. extraordinarily so for a midterm election. on georgia, some voters talking to theirs say those voting restrictions are a motivator to get out there and make sure they get their ballot counted. in this final fortnight, this is about as close of a scramble as we can get in terms of the senate. we may not have a winner tuesday night. depending on recounts, and of course the possibility of that runoff in georgia. but i was talking to senior democratic officials yesterday and quickly hitting on a couple of states here. new hampshire, they re aware of the poll, alarmed by the number, but they think should hold on. they feel like the infrastructure is strong enough. it will be a narrow win, but they re still feeling pretty good about that. wisconsin is harder. they do worry as gene said, how difficult it is to knock off an incumbent senator. tim ryan has run about as good as a campaign as you can in ohio. the i
election. the governor s race. former governor charlie chris. now a member of congress. running to unseat ron desantis who is the governor. what s that look like? that once a lot tougher. if you re a democrat. part of the reason there is just the gargantuan financial advantage that rhonda sanchez has over charlie chris. it s something like 140 million to $5 million. when you look at it. and also the opinion polls or make it very clear. he s looking at anywhere between 6 to 11 point disadvantage. charlie chris is gonna to work very hard in these last few days to close that gap. matthew, last question to you. early voting and started all over the country. but folks are focused in on georgia and the huge early voting numbers in that state. my question to you is how worried should democrats be about tickets folks voting for say senator warnock for senate.
