In fact, when i was a kid, our idea of Summer Vacation was throwing mummy bags, army surplus sleeping bags, and a canvas tent in the back of the car and go off to places like fort ticonderoga, gettysburg, valley forge. Visiting those places as a kid gave me the sense that history is not something that happens in books. It happens
