When President Biden is delivering his SOTU address, Raya Kenney will be in attendance. She has been pushing for a memorial to women who worked during WWII.
Raya Kenney, a college student from DC, has been fighting for the memorial for over four years. Congress offered the green light, including a bill in Omnibus.
The monument will commemorate the estimated 18 million women who took over jobs traditionally held by men and worked as pilots, engineers, electricians, farmers, taxi drivers, letter carriers and code breakers.
