for you. good morning to you, welcome to early start on this monday morning. i m zoraida sambolin. and i m ashlee. it s the kind of heat that makes it hard to breathe and it is still threatening millions of americans all the way from the midwest to the northeast this morning. about 16 people have now died from this heat since thursday when triple-digit temperatures unleashed killer storms that have now left millions of people without power this morning. it s incredible, but look how many states are now dealing with miserable conditions in ohio, 425,000 people are now without power. that s as of 10:00 p.m. last night. it s the same story in virginia and maryland, where hundreds of thousands of people are just waiting for the power to come back on. just a whiff of ac in these extraordinary temperatures. the problem there doesn t seem to be much of a let-up in sight. 20 states are under heat advisory warnings. and now a state of emergency has been declared by the gove
and now in mississippi, a new court says that an abortion clinic is going to be allowed to stay open. we have george there, and tell us what has happened here. well, police officers were called here, because protesters were getting on the grass there, and they can stay on the public privat property, but it is not a private property, and it happens everyday this clinic is open. we can pan over to see happy independence day, yes, we are open, and a sign that this clinic will be open today, and basically protected from this new state law that would effectively shut it down. these new regulations, and they do two things. first of all the regulations require that any physician who performs an abortion in the state of mississippi must be board certified ogbyn first, and secondly the physician mustt have privileges to the local hospital to admit patients and the drirector of the clinic say she has been trying to get the privileges for several weeks and months since the law was sig

they were just enjoying, you know, what they hoped was a beautiful weekend when the storms that had raged through from washington, maryland, and up hit south jersey. the storms, the winds came through, heavy rains. the family told our police that they were a bit afraid. one family went and huddled together with the other family in their tent. tragically this is right under a tree that broke due to extremely severe winds. a pine tree that literally snapped in a pretty severe gust and literally fell directly from that, from above them right on to their camp and killed the two boys. what can you tell us, larry, about the other family members? was anyone else injured? this is not that far outside of new york city. this is a popular site for fishing, for boating, for camping. i assume a lot of people were there this holiday weekend. what about the rest of the people and the family members? well, the rest of the family members miraculously were virtually unscathed. a couple scr
