In celebration of International Women’s Day, this concert features works written by female composers living in different countries and at different times. The composers are united by talent, depth of musical thinking and subtle lyricism. Most of the pieces in the program will be performed in Egypt for the first time by two of Cairo’s best female musicians Elena Grechenko (piano) and Tsvetelina Kristeva (violin).

BEMIDJI Bemidji State University’s Honors Program will host a lecture series from Jan. 26 through April 28.
The series is hosted by the Bemidji State Honors Council, an advisory group to the honors program composed of 12 faculty members representing each of the university’s colleges. Student representatives are also elected to the council by their cohorts for one-year terms, a release said.
