St. Cloud-area residents have two opportunities this week to connect with state elected officials.
Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan will join St. Cloud DFL Rep. Dan Wolgamott for a listening session on the proposed state budget on Tuesday night.
Lawmakers in Senate District 13 will host a town hall community conversation on Friday morning. The lawmakers include Sen. Jeff Howe, R-Rockville, Rep. Tim O Driscoll, R-Sartell, and Rep. Lisa Demuth, R-Cold Spring.
Both events will take place virtually.
There are five weeks left in the Legislative session and lawmakers must finalize a two-year, balanced budget before the end of June. The state expects a $1.6 billion surplus.
In the release, Wolgamott says, “This will be the most crucial budget of our generation as it will impact Minnesota’s ability to overcome the historic challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. I’ve invited Lt. Governor Flanagan to join me in listening to your budget priorities so we can take them back to the Capitol and fight for a budget that fulfills the needs of the people of St. Cloud.”
To participate and ask questions, attendees must RSVP.
