The President, Christian Association of Nigeria, Revd. Samson Ayokunle, has said Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s style of governance in Osun has changed the negative narratives of the state.
Ayokunle said this during the presentation of the ‘Democrat of the Year Award’ to the governor by the New Frontier Television, in Ibadan, Oyo State according to a statement on Monday.
The CAN President hailed the governor for putting the people of the state first in his administration’s programme and policy implementation.
Oyetola, who was represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government, Wole Oyebamiji, noted that the administration prioritised the welfare of the people of the state.

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his condolences to the royal family, the government and people of Niger State on the demise of Alhaji Salihu Tanko, Emir of Kagara.
He joined the Etsu Nupe and Chairman Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar and Kagara emirate in mourning the passing.
The Nigerian leader said the monarch guided his community with dignity and dedication throughout his 30 years on the throne.
“The highly revered Emir served the needs of his people and devoted his resources for their benefit and development”, he noted.
Buhari added that Tanko will be missed by the nation and remembered for his wise counsel to successive administrations
COVID-19: Osun Govt. inaugurates technical working group

As part of efforts to further combat further spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the state of Osun, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has inaugurated a 30-man technical working committee with a charge to go all out to curtail the menace of the dreaded virus.
The committee is headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji.
DAILY POST reports that other members include the state Commissioner for Health Dr. Rafiu Isamotu, Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs. Funke Egbemode.
Also on the 30 man technical working committee are the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, Dr. Siji Olamiju, the Chairman, State Primary Health Care Development Board Hon. Ogunsola Oyeleke, among others.

Ede (Osun) Feb. 27, 2021 Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, on Saturday, said war against insecurity could only be won if the people of the state were ready to volunteer information on criminals living in their communities.
Oyetola, who spoke at the Fourth Annual Siyan Oyeweso Colloquium, with the theme: “Security and Insecurity in Nigeria” in Ede, Osun, said criminals were not ghosts but members of various communities.
He said that Nigerians should be sensitised, encouraged and mobilised to provide information on criminals living among them for security agents, with an assurance of safety to their lives.
“To ensure improved performance in the quality of intelligence gathering that is available to our security operatives, we must ensure that we further sensitise our people, mobilise them and work towards bringing them on board.
