The Left has presented a package of post-pandemic projects for Poland regarding five spheres of public life, since, according to the grouping, they require immediate reorganisation.

Outlays on healthcare should be raised to 7.2 percent GDP by 2024, a Left MP said, adding that the health service sector was extremely underfinanced.

The population of Poles who live in cities will drop by 10.3 percent by 2050, the European Union s statistics office has reported, citing its own demographic forecasts.
But, according to Eurostat, a greater decline in urban population than the one expected to be seen in Poland could hit Greece (by 16.7 percent) and Latvia (by 17.7 percent).

The Polish government will offer a one-off PLN 5,000 (EUR 1,101) bonus to non-medical personnel involved in the fight against Covid-19, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has announced.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Morawiecki said the bonus will be applicable to people who have worked for at least 21 days in a Covid area. We ve decided to offer a one-off bonus, a one-off payment of five thousand zlotys, Morawiecki said. Let it be some additional support for and acknowledgement of this very important part of the non-medical personnel.
Health Minister Adam Niedzielski said the bonus will be paid in June.

Poland will have 20 million vaccinations against Covid-19 administered by the end of June, the government commissioner for the national vaccination programme has declared.
Michał Dworczyk told a Monday press conference that according to the declarations made by the prime minister, Poland will perform 20 million vaccinations in this quarter. We also intend to have over a million vaccinations done this week, he added.
Until now, around 7.7 million inoculations either with one or two doses have been carried out in the country, with one million shots given over the last week only, Dworczyk also said.

The Polish Development Fund has channeled billions of funds to companies struggling with the economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic since it began in the spring of 2020. Half of all companies in Poland, 370,000 enterprises, benefited from the financial shield from the Polish Development Fund (PFR). These were mainly micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises that received subsidies during the first stage of the pandemic, Paweł Borys, head of the PFR, said on Thursday.
Borys pointed out that during the second and third waves of the pandemic, aid was directed to companies in specific sectors.
The PFR head said that companies that have already received government support employ some 3.5 million people. This is a very large scale. Also 100 large companies. received various types of financing, added Borys.
