amendment and it might prevail. there is a chance of prevailing if arrested just for protesting. harris: pickets or parades 1503, it includes that. look, you are the law professor but what i know as a journalist is sometimes these things when challenged they get a look from the bully pulpit. why not press where you think you can to get these people off the front lawns of justices? by the way, it is not happening for the liberal justices or not being applied equally. what we don t want to know or think is that it would be a difference if they weren t conservative. we want the law to look at them the same. why not push and challenge? i would want you on my side if we did that. even if we didn t win we would get their attention. i want to turn now to the january 6th hearing we saw last night. the produced event. i just spoke with congressman jim jordan who was blocked from being on the committee and he had harsh words. a committee that meets on
section 1507 of the u.s. code title 18 states whoever with the intent of interfering, obstructing, impeding, or in the intent of influencing any judge, juror, witness pickets or parades in or near a building or residence occupied or used by such judge, juror, witness, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than a year or both. why isn t that being adjudicated? well, i think there would be a very serious first amendment challenge if you just arrested people protesting outside the homes of justices. we can all condemn that as we should. harris: there is a law against it. well, the law says that you do it with the intent to interfere with a proceeding to intimidate. if you read that too broadly you could suggest that even protesting in front of the supreme court would trigger that law.
