Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], April 29 (ANI): With Phase III of the nationwide Covid-19vaccination drive set to start on May 1, the Andhra Pradesh government has said it is trying to procure vaccine from the manufacturers, but it may take few more days to get the vaccine on hand .
In a release, Andhra Pradesh Health department Principal Secretary Anil Kumar Singhal said on Wednesday that the state government is consulting with all three companies for the procurement of vaccines. The state government is trying to procure vaccine, to inoculate people above 18 years of age, from the companies. However, it may take few more days to get the vaccine on hand. Pune (Maharashtra) [India], April 29 (ANI): With Phase III of the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive set to start on May 1, Pune Municipal Corporation received a new stock of 25,000 doses of Covishield vaccine on Wednesday.
However, despite receiving new stock, the district continues to struggle with the shortage of vaccine. Pune Municipal Corporation said the vaccines will be only distributed at government facilities and not to private hospitals. This arrangement and adjustment are being done because of less stock of vaccines with administration, Municipal Corporation said.
India adds over 93,000 new cases to Covid tally in highest single-day spike since September 2020
India recorded 93,249 new Covid-19 cases and 513 deaths in 24 hours on Sunday, as per the Union Health Ministry’s data. This is the highest single-day spike in cases that the country has seen since September 2020.

India recorded 93,249 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours on Sunday, exceeding Saturday’s six-month-high figure of 89,129 new cases. India’s daily tally is now the highest in the world, having surpassed the United States of America (70,569) and Brazil (70,238).

With Phase 1B of Illinois’ vaccine rollout underway, restaurant owners are advocating for their employees to be prioritized for the shot.
The Chicago Restaurants Coalition demanded the city expedite vaccines for at least four employees per restaurant at a Monday news conference. Food service workers are expected to become eligible during Phase 1C of Illinois’ rollout plan, which has an estimated start date of March 29 in Chicago.
“Chicago’s 7300 restaurants are absolutely essential to our city’s economic survival,” coalition coordinator Roger Romanelli said. “It’s critical to look at restaurants as integral to our daily lives.”
