With Kenya fast becoming one of Africa s booming tech leaders, an organisation is teaching children in Nairobi s Kibera neighbourhood coding to provide them with skills for the job market.
right now, there is almost n support for the majority o these children they re released to sponsors and that is basically the last time that government checks in on them. there is a lot of pressure t ramp up services, like legal services, social workers, they sent adults out to check on th kids at their released and living, in most cases, wit people that are not thei parents. hannah, i ve got a minute left i want to ask you that thi week, i was mostly republica senate passed a bill t actually child labor laws. how do lots like tha complicate what we re talkin about? it is shocking. you think that in 2023, we would not have a child labor issue in this country. what we re seeing is a rea worker shortage. the responses been in places like iowa, arkansas, other places like ohio to make it so that children can do these jobs why not put a child in a meatpacking plant? why not but a child work overnight?
