Subscriber only A busy Sunshine Coast independent supermarket is bidding for another expansion to keep up with customer demand. Just six years after IGA Marketplace at Wises Road last expanded owners Hofe Supermarkets, led by director Brad Hopper, want to further grow the store s footprint. An impact-assessable development application has been lodged with Sunshine Coast Council for a 238 sqm expansion of the 32 Wises Road supermarket. According to the documents the business is operating at a rate 50 per cent higher than usual sales productivity at a supermarket of its size. It said there was a significant need for the proposed expansion and that it would increase annual turnover by $850,000.
