the primary i was running a campaign down in illinois, was a bernie supporter, did switch over to hillary in the general election and it s because for me, for the communities that i m a part of, or the community i want to be a part of, trump posed a real threat to our existence in this country. and i say this as someone who s born and raised in milwaukee, wisconsin. i m a wisconsinite, i m a midwesterner, i an american, so, yeah. when you say pose a real threat to the communities you re part of, what do you mean by that? i mean folks of color, i mean communities of immigrants. i mean, trump has talked about putting folks that look like me on a national registry. we re thinking japanese internment. and i m also talking about other immigrant communities, communities that have benefited from dapa and doca. what are those communities going to do? are my friends and family members going to be deported?
donald trump. to say, see, these are really the racist, misogynist c xenophobes. i don t want to be the one person who is arguing for donald trump at the thanksgiving gathering. and that s a catastrophic level loss and quite possible they could look at something even worse than 2008 and it is almost all their own fault. paul ryan presided over the convention that could have stopped donald trump from bringing us to this point, but him and his fellow wisconsinite said, may have another and assumed the position for donald trump. the scriptures say when you sew the wind, you reap the world. they were going with the will of the people. he received more votes than any of the 17 others who ran against
he will say what he needs to say to get elected. then once in office he ll deliver for the wealthy special interests. they know that. they re not stupid. they don t mind if he says some things that, quote, unquote, upset them because at the end of the day, if you look at his track record he has delivered again and again and again. they don t have many worries about scott walker. right. so what has the ed show meant for middle class americans over the last six years? i want to tell you something, my friend. this show has been an essential part of the struggle of working americans to have their voices heard. and if this show wasn t around i think some fundamental issues like trade policy would not have been explored as deeply as they needed to be explored but more importantly, as a wisconsinite, i have to say that when the uprising came against scott walker and when some very brave teachers and farmers and snow
oourgs instead of making some hard working taxpayer that never uses those services pay for it. here s what this fee does. it says if you have a connecting flight, you pay $5. if you have a direct flight, you pay $2.vifl do five across the board. and then there was a tax on airlines that was distributed in a very strange way. not treating them the same. and we got rid of that tax. and that is added to the fee. so $5.60 a ticket whether you re connecting or flying direct. and it hems defray the costs of security. and even with this, jake, that general fund taxpayer who never gets on an airplane is still six diesing the person who does get on the plane. if other i am a wisconsinite, i will take that. it is obviously easier to say no and criticize a deal like this. are you at all concerned that this deal could hurt you with grassroots republicans should you ever need grassroots republicans to support you in
people wanted. that s the way compromise and common ground works. another criticism from the left. this package does not include closing a single tax loophole but it would increase tsa feels that all americans face. so how would you respond to a critics the next time you re at a town hall in wisconsin that says why are you in favor by any other name. a user fee. pretend i m joe blow. a ten-year wisconsinite and i m in a town hall meeting. before 9/11, the person getting on an airplane paid for all their security when they paid for their ticket. they covered all of it. since 9/11 that person is paying for less than 40% of their security and the nonflying public, the nonflying taxpayer is six diesing the rest it. we think that the user should pay for the services they re
