June 2, 2021 Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) pays tribute to Daily Pakistan correspondent and Tribal Union of Journalists (TUJ) Vice President Noor Hakim who was killed fourteen years ago in a roadside bomb in Bajaur Agency of the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas. On June 2, 2007, Hakim was travelling alongside Nazukai Salarzai tribe chief Malik Muhammad Ayaz, his son Muhammad Pervez, political tehsildaar Wisal Khan and sepoy Hassan Muhammad when their vehicle was blown up by what was reported to be a remote controlled bomb. According to  Dawn, the tehsildar was travelling to supervise an operation against a suspect in connection to a murder. The vehicle was struck when the passengers were returning to the Bajaur Agency headquarters Khaar and all five died on the spot.  The vehicle appeared to be targeted.

AFP disaffiliates from POA January 9, 2021 LAHORE: Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) president Major General (retd) Akram Sahi has said that his federation has cut off its association with the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA). Addressing a press conference at Sports Board Coaching Centre, he said it was up to the national Olympic committee to meet their demands and conditions before giving them affiliation. He said that now they will not join the POA but the POA will give them the affiliation itself. “We will not join until the conditions of affiliation are fulfilled. In the presence of General Arif and Khalid Mahmood, the federation will not join POA.”
