A 15-year-old was killed after a single-vehicle accident in Affton Tuesday. At approximately 8:33 p.m. July 27, officers from the Affton Southwest Precinct responded to a call for service for an accident near the intersection of Gravois Road and Winternight Lane. Upon arrival, officers located a single vehicle. A preliminary investigation showed that the 2002 Saturn SL was traveling west on Gravois Road near Winternight Lane at a high rate of speed before losing control and striking a utility pole. A 15-year-old passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and two additional passengers were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
