Faced with a legal system actively working against them, Aaron and his team fought to convict the cop, and in the finale, they pulled off a victory of sorts. While the jury found the officer guilty of criminally negligent homicide instead of manslaughter in the first degree, the latter of which was the harsher charge, the judge intervened and gave him the maximum sentence allowed for that count. So justice was served to an extent.
