Ingleton Parish Council discuss Police Station closure | The Westmorland Gazette

Report of Ingleton Parish Council Meeting held by video conference on Monday 1 February 2021. Superintendent Steve Thomas attended the meeting to discuss the closure of Ingleton Police Station. He identified several reasons why Ingleton Station was under review including budgetary restraints and that there was currently no police staff now living in the area. The Chairman commented that 18 months ago there had been confirmation from the police that no closure was proposed, he mentioned that the asset of the police station building should have its value utilised in the Ingleton area. Superintendent Thomas confirmed that the consultation phase comes after the formal decision. He confirmed that the policing footprint will increase quite significantly following this closure.

Concerns Expressed About East Clare Roads As Cold Snap Expected

Temperatures are due to once again drop to freezing in the next seven days, wth Clare County Council committing to undertaker a review of its Winter Gritting Plan. The local authority says it has plenty of contingency salt supply to treat most national and regional roads throughout the county along with some local roads.
